The Mission of h2o church
As we connect with spiritually restless young people in Kent, the mission of h2o church is to: ENCOUNTER the living God, EQUIP the church to participate in God's mission, and ENGAGE in the needs of our world.
The Core Values of h2o church
Community
As image-bearers of a God who exists in three persons (Father, Son, Spirit), we seek to live in holistic community, where people from all walks of life assemble to discover what it means to reflect the image of God to our friends and to our world.
Worship
In response to the character and work of God in our midst, we are called to offer our entire lives in worship. We understand worship to include all facets of life, as we seek to magnify God in a diversity of ways.
Evangelism
Believing that the story of Scripture is that of God entering our reality, we live as signposts to the Kingdom of God. As such we seek to invite others into a restored relationship with God and the fellowship of His church.
Discipleship
Through the work of the Spirit of God and together in community with others, we seek to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. We journey together and rely upon one another for this transformation.
Leadership Development
Following the example of Jesus, we seek to train and equip servant leaders to utilize their God-given gifts for the glory of God and the development of His church.
Bible Study
With reverence for the sacred texts of Scripture, we are committed to living as students of God’s Word for the purpose of deeper worship of both heart and mind.
Holy Living
As we lead lives of worship and as God restores our image-bearing nature, we are committed to striving toward purity and godly character through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Spirit-led prayer
Recognizing our great desperation for God and our inability to engage in his mission without Him, we seek to be in communication with and responsive to the Spirit of God in all we do.
Compassion for the oppressed
As a community seeking to embody the holistic mission of Jesus, we enter our world’s struggle for justice and compassion, advocating for and engaging on behalf of the oppressed and exploited.
Church Planting
As we are transformed into the likeness of Jesus and the reign of God is realized among us, we are committed to reproducing ministries within the church with an eye toward the ultimate goal of planting new church communities beyond Kent.
