Where did we come from?
h2o is a part of a missionary movement known as Great Commission Ministries, an organization committed to sharing the message of Jesus Christ on college campuses and countries all over the world.
In 2003 members of h2o church in Bowling Green, Ohio began pursuing the idea of starting a church on another college campus. Teams were sent out to explore various locations. Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Kent were a few of the places considered.
In early 2007, after much prayer and consideration, the team determined there was spiritual growth in the city of Kent and God was inviting us to be a part of it.
During the summer of 2008, a team of 21 individuals migrated across the great state of Ohio to become full-time residents of the city of Kent and to create a faith community on the campus of Kent State University.
